Lucky

This is Lucky, the newest addition to our 'farm'.

This little heifer was abandoned by her mama and we took her in. When we first got her she was barely able to stand on her own, we weren't even sure if she was going to make it. But she pulled through, and we're pretty "lucky" she did :)

Now she's Emalee's calf. Em has joined 4H in order to learn how to take care of her and how to eventually show her. Between Steve, Mom, and Emalee, she's bottle fed three times a day, petted, and loved. Another part of taking care of her is to halter break her. This allows her to be on a type of leash so can can be easily led from one place to another. Here's some pictures of the first time.

Lucky was not digging this new experience. But this is part of the process. Emalee did a good job of calming her down and getting her used to it.

*Can you believe it? This is the little girl, who three years ago, barely even liked animals and now she has a cow!!*

I always wanted a pony never a cow but its cool to be able to say my cousin has a cow. What a cool experience for her to go through. It will teach her responsibility.
